At Engen Steakhouse we want to gather families, colleagues, and couples for barbecue food with pure flavours and quality ingredients.

People gather at Engen Steakhouse for good conversations around the grill. Although we’re a premium steakhouse, we also offer freshly-caught Norwegian seafood, vegan dishes, and meat-free side dishes.

The building has a modern architectural style, with large windows that let in lots of light and provide a warm atmosphere. Engen has outdoor seating in the summer.   

Engen is located in the centre of Bergen, within walking distance of the fish market on the harbour, KODE art museums, Fløibanen, Torgallmenningen (with its cafés, shopping and entertainment), and Bryggen – the UNESCO World Heritage-listed wharf, known for its colourful wooden houses.

Engen Steakhouse opened its doors in 2020. Artist and former Norwegian National Chef Team member Adam Bjerck is the restaurant’s founder and Head Chef. He is behind Engen’s menu and culinary philosophy, with a focus on grilled dishes of the highest quality, purity, and simplicity. 

Engen is part of the De Bergenske family of unique, exclusive hotels and restaurants in the centre of Bergen. Just like De Bergenske, Adam Bjerck is a true Bergen native, enhancing the Engen experience with his local knowledge and pride.
