Best hotel breakfast: "The breakfast is so good here, you'll want to stay for lunch!"

De Bergenske has the strictest requirements for the first meal of the day, and breakfast is always included with your stay.

"Our liver pâté is pure magic. I dare say it's the world's best liver pâté," says Brand & Concept Manager Yngve Hansen at De Bergenske.

De Bergenske consists of six hotels centrally located in Bergen city centre. No matter where you check in, breakfast consists of locally sourced, sustainable and healthy food and is always included in the price.

"We have a slightly different approach to breakfast compared to other hotels. We put an extreme amount of effort into the first meal of the day, and have customised products for each hotel," says Hansen.

Who has the best hotel breakfast?

"De Bergenske has the best hotel breakfast in Bergen," laughs Yngve Hansen. He points out that at all six of their hotels, the focus is on Norwegian culinary traditions, which meet the high-quality standards of both local guests and visitors from all over the world.

Visitors from abroad find Norwegian traditions particularly exciting. A typical Norwegian breakfast usually consists of both cold and hot food. At De Bergenske, you can help yourself to a breakfast buffet consisting of meats, cheeses, vegetables, gluten-free options, and very good coffee. The hotels work hard to reduce food waste and boost sustainability, with many locally sourced ingredients used with respect to the latter.

"We make our own honey and serve local products such as both Fanaost cheese and local ham. We want to help boost ingredients from the Bergen area. We may not be the largest in breadth, but rather focus on the quality of all of the elements for the guests, with a focus on sustainability, health, and all things green," says Hansen.

"We are also extremely focused on bread. Our bread is fresh and locally baked," says Hansen.

Breakfast in your room

There is little that beats enjoying an elegant and relaxing start to the day, perhaps with croissants and coffee while looking out the window towards the Fish Market and Torgallmenningen? Because that's exactly what you'll enjoy if you order breakfast in your room at Bergen Børs Hotel. It's a true Breakfast at Tiffany's feeling.

"For many, breakfast in the room is important, and it's something you can get at all our hotels. There's nothing like a quiet start to the day with croissants, fruit, fresh juice and coffee," says Hansen.

Whether you're staying at Bergen Børs Hotel, Grand Hotel Terminus, Villa Terminus, Zander K Hotel, Skostredet Hotel, or Heimen Hotel – we're always up early and ready to serve you breakfast in the restaurant or in your room (included in the price)!

We wish you good morning and a great day in Bergen!
