About De Bergenske

Search

De Bergenske is no ordinary chain of hotels and eateries. De Bergenske is a family of hotels, owned and run by the local Bergen Smørås family, who love the city and have a long-term and sustainable perspective. De Bergenske has been in the Smørås family for generations, and we are proud of our history and where we are now.

It is now over 100 years since De Bergenske's oldest hotel, Heimen, welcomed its first guests.

De Bergenske's most important task is to deliver the very best experiences in its hometown of Bergen. That's our main drive and motivation.

De Bergenske should be different. We think our five hotels differ from each other and from everyone else. They give the city of Bergen a unique, authentic expression that the people of Bergen themselves can vouch for and benefit from – and which show visitors local culture at its best.

In addition to hotel rooms, De Bergenske offers some of the city's best event venues, such as the venerable Grand Bergen, and delicious eateries, including Wesselstuen, Frescohallen, BARE by chef PAK, and Kulturhuset.

Our hotels, venues and restaurants all have modern facilities, without being cast in one and the same mould. We are proud to offer event spaces, restaurants, and five unique hotels in the heart of Bergen that take care of both guests and locals, while maintaining the city's heritage and aesthetic.

It's possible to do — but it takes a family.

WELCOME HOME TO DE BERGENSKE.

Best regards,

The Smørås family
